Spencer Cheng: Hi Dan Thanks for your email and your effort to help me out! The world needs more people like you. I am interested in purchasing that strip fuse from your source. I was wondering, as a temporary fix if I can solder the strip fuse in the car, or is that not a route I should take
Jon Vaupel: Hey Dan, Thank you so much for all your effort, the link you sent me was very helpful, I did find everything that I needed, I will keep in touch with you and let you know how I got on. Again Thanks for all your help and I look forward to talking to you again soon. Until Then All the Best - Jon Vaupel
Cris Minda: Big Dan, Got the alpine installed, sounds great, your wiring instructions were right on thanks for the call and all your help.
Spencer Cheng: AHOY!!! I can not thank you enough! (Your photos and explanations are amazing) Within minutes of receiving your email I ran out to my car to check the relay out and took a look at the fuse. As you warned me that it may have a crack along its length-it sure did!! And when I touched it, it completely broke in half. To check whether it was the main culprit, I aligned them as to have both sides of the fuse make contact which each other and turned the key in the ignition and what do you know...it started fine!! This has saved me possibly hundreds of dollars (was quoted from the MB stealership $550). Do you know where I can purchase a new strip fuse? Thanks Again
Cris Minda: Big Dan, I saw your site and am hoping that you can give me some instructions for removing my Becker Grand Prix radio from my 83 300 sd. Recently it started acting peculiar as in turning on and off, not doing either very consistantly and eventually not turning on at all. During this same time frame something started draining the battery, I believe it could be related to the Becker radio failing. Haveing said all that I think its time to replace it. I have removed the ashtray bracket which was secured by 2 small screws and have gained access to the bottom side of the radio, however, can't seem to find any fastners from that vantage point. I'm wondering if the center consol will have to be removed. your help is appreciated
Spencer Cheng: Hi Big Dan! I was fortunate to stumble across your website whilst searching for glow plug problems on a 300SD. I am utterly amazed by the quality and quantity of your walk through guides! Being mechanically weak personally, I have a few questions about my situation. Yesterday, when I went to start the car the "coil light" did not come on which I came to learn was the glow plug indicator light. I read it could be because of any number of problems from bad glow plugs, faulty relay, burnt fuse. What would be my best bet to try and remedy first? (also i looked into the relay box and could not find the fuse, what does it look like?) If you can help me out, Id greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
Stephen bennett: Hi Stephen I have just replied to you email.Cheers

Dana E Williams: Dear Sir: Thank you so much for providing this information on how to change the air filter mounts it was priceless! I had the same problem as illustrated where one of the mounts had sheered off. On that one I used a little WD-40 and a pair of small vise grips to grab underneath and out it came. And from there it was just a matter of putting the new rubber mounts in and all the other items back like i found them. It is so nice to look inside the engine compartment and not see that air cleaner housing bouncing around and I did it with out taken the benz to the shop. Just wonderful Thanks again!
